Jawai is a stretch of granite kopjes and scrub between Pali and Sirohi, best known for a leopard population that lives alongside the Rabari herding community without conflict. Sightings are genuinely common here, and they happen in open rock country rather than dense forest — which makes the photography exceptional.

The Jawai Bandh dam adds crocodiles, flamingos and a large migratory bird population in winter.
