Udaipur is the easiest long weekend from Ahmedabad — close enough to reach before lunch, with enough to fill three days. The old city wraps around Lake Pichola, and almost everything worth seeing is within walking distance of the ghats.
It is also the natural base for Kumbhalgarh and Ranakpur, which is why we often combine them into one trip.
